Britspace in conjunction with the Ministry of Justice, has developed a steel frame A9 prison cell for use in the programme to increase national prisons capacity.

In the first of 3 projects of this nature, Britspace has designed, manufactured and installed 60 prison cells in a new houseblock for the category D Kirklevington Prison.

Modular building is particularly well suited to these builds given the speed of construction, reduced time on site and the ability to test, in detail, the strength of the structure prior to final installation on site.

Britspace has subsequently worked with the MOJ to develop an A10 prison cell for a category B prison.
